Yeah, I had to switch my main desktop back to Windows and kinda stopped using KDE (it's a bit too heavy in a VM). I'd love it if somebody else could pick this up and fork/rewrite it. - Jul 09 2011

I've read the source, curious to see how you achieved data persistence, and I see that you basically abused the configuration infrastructure, creating one group for each task.

I'm not being critical towards you: I tend to do the same, because is probably the best way to achieve simple data persistence in plasmoids, which is sad. it just makes me think that the DataEngine specification has miserably failed.

rant over :) - Oct 15 2010

On Kubuntu 9.10 (kde 4.3.3, so I had to comment out the "setAlternating..." line in order to compile) the resulting plasmoid looks quite ugly, and the contextual menu for items doesn't come up.

promising, but needs work. - Dec 01 2009

To be honest, I always thought of the "synch" feature as one way (del.icio.us -> konqui), so you're perfectly correct.

I guess this is a feature request then :) I'll work on it, might be in the next version (probably with a disabled-by-default option, to make sure that I don't "eat your babies").

Please feel free to suggest other features (either here or on the sourceforge bugtracker). - Jan 22 2008

I think it's due to this call: meinproc --check --cache index.cache.bz2 index.docbook

This works when run as root, not when running under fakeroot, g*d knows why. Anyway, building as root (i know, i know, it's not nice) works fine on Debian etch. - Nov 29 2007
I downloaded the sources and, after spotting a "debian" subdirectory, proceeded to do dpkg-buildpackage. I run Debian/Unstable. I thought this was more of a (K)Ubuntu package, but I gave it a go anyway...
It complains about a dependency with python2.4; however, python 2.4.1 is there. You might want to fix that for regular, not-Ubuntu debian users. Ignoring the dependency with -d works fine, and it looks like the DEB package was installed fine. Great tool, extremely useful :) - Jul 18 2005

... I hate Perl with a passion ;) so I rewrote it in python and uploaded it as "pykeylicious". I linked to this app in the description, because I'd never have done it without looking at your script.

This also gave me the idea for lots of other improvements I could add in this way. Thanks for your great work. - Nov 28 2007

What about the old Kqemu/KRDesktop project at http://kqemu.sourceforge.net/ ? That tool, even though it was marked as "0.3alpha", works fine since 2005... a joint effort might achieve more than 2 separate projects... (but, alas, maybe not). - Jul 06 2007

you should mention in README or INSTALL that this package depends on the Apache Portable Runtime and the Subversion headers (including NEON)

On Debian/Unstable, I had to install libsvn0-dev, libapr0-dev and apache2-utils. - Aug 12 2005

it's not just the loading. I noticed several "Warning: I could not calculate the full property list, due to impossible unit conversion". Note that the final recipe seems ok eventually, it's just the UI that remains stuck for a while.

You might want to fix that loading stage. - Jul 04 2005

I don't agree that XP is the way to go. I find it annoyingly basic, and it's a pain to move the mouse around the bloody two-columns menu. Some new thinking in the area is badly needed, think radiants and less distance for the mouse to cover. - Jun 08 2005

Can I suggest to drop the animated flags? They are distracting and they probably slow down the rendering.

Also, how am I supposed to attack from one side of the map to the other? E.g. from Alaska to Asia. I think you should give the option to select attacking countries with another mouse click, maybe via right-clik / "Attack from this country to...". - May 19 2005

There are a couple of errors in your script: the call to "os.basename" should really be "os.path.basename" and when you do "dir_file = open(dir_file_path)" should be "dir_file = open(dir_file_path,"w")" ... at least, this is what I had to change to make it work with python 2.3.4 :)

Great script though, and very good idea. - Apr 07 2005
