The desktop is not available publicly
and I'll upload my bespin config later
on, anything else?

Oh and thx for the compliments! - May 05 2010
Ill post a snap of current bespin settings
when I'm at my other computer....

Desktop is not plasma.... - May 05 2010
Howdy mate!

Yeah I thought about that, but then again,
I change my settings really often so
it would look almost completely different
every time, and I'm not about to spam
this site with bespin configs :D

The bespin config is pretty self explanatory
anyway :)

The parts that stays the same for a longer
period I usually upload here, like this
and the amarok theme, and then the
dekorator....

I sure can provide a snapshot of my
bespin config here if someone wants it.

Thx for the compliments tho! I usually
when I'm bored try to do smth in inkscape
or modify some settings just for fun.

Just wanted to point out that you are doing
a good job and a lot of people are grateful,
and use this set.

I know it can be frustrating at times
to make a full icon set as there are literally
thousands of icons.

isnt that a major pain in the ass?!?!?!?!
I don't know how many times that has
happened to me, nowadays, anything I post
here, before I press "send" or "committ"
or whatev, I copy the contents to the
clipboard.

Nice themes also, good to have a little
more contrast for a change ;-) - May 03 2010

no I dont. - Apr 25 2010
afaik you can only apply it to one app
when launching it. - Apr 25 2010
The separator between dolphin toolbuttons?
well, that isnt actually there, just abused
qss to make a 1px gap between them that
looks like a "separator", here all the
qss you need to make them look exactly
like that:

QToolButton { /* all types of tool button */
padding-left: 5px;
padding-right: 5px;
padding-top: 2px;
padding-bottom: 2px;
margin-top: 0px;
margin-bottom: -2px;
margin-right: 1px;
margin-left: -1px;
}

just you need ofc to make them raised
and metal in bespin conf.

Desktop?

All I can say here is that its not
plasma and it's not publicly available. - Apr 25 2010
That is kde but it's not plasma desktop,
the desktop is not publicly available and the author
asked me to stfu about it so that's what
I'm gonna do.

Hopefully plasma will be better in the
future with launcher support and all that,
I know there is a bugreport on it and
I was there voting for it too, dunno
if it passed. - Apr 25 2010
Thx!

It's conky(with lua support):

you can find conky / lua scripts here:

Hehe, thx!

I guess the bespin config/color scheme
makes sense. The conky configs arent mine,
so I'm prolly not gonna share those.
Thx for the heavy comps!

one of your shots.

thx!

the way it looks now tho, i will not
develop this any further. As I do not
use plasma anymore, plasma has too many
issues and there are plenty of other
desktops out there that does the job. - Apr 14 2010
forgot to say, you only have to do this
for the backgrounds, not the elements painted
on the backgrounds eg tasks. and you dont
have to alter all background files... a lot
of them are the same, just alter one and
copypasta over the rest.

Inkscape is real easy once you get the hang
of it! luck! - Mar 29 2010
Ic, its really easy tho, just click on an
object and press crtl+shift+f (iirc) and
use the transparency slider to change
opacness.

I dont know... its just is a lot of clicking...
...maybe if I get bored I could do this. - Mar 29 2010
Thx!

You'll need basic inkscape / other svg
program skills for that. just make the
parts you want completely opaque and
save & reload.

//Robert - Mar 27 2010
you mean the icons in the screenshot?

they live in the bespin svn in the icons

yeah i know... did even try with a different
preset that does not apply uno...
,gonna try and restart X once finished compiling
the world update... (im very lazy with
these so always a lot of packages) :D - Mar 31 2010
hmmm, doesnt work here either tho...
...tried emptying kde-cache... looked thru
the gui if you added some settings like:
"toolbar casts shadow" or some.

- Mar 31 2010
woot!?!?! you have committed that? NIICE!

gonna suck it from svn right away :D - Mar 31 2010
yeah, it does not change moodbar...
...moodbar is not part of the amarok
skinning system.

The volume/play buttons still change yesno? - Mar 31 2010
>>The moodbar seems same as before.
>>toolbar*

note, amarok themes does not change the
background of the toolbar (or the moodbar), just the objects
like the track progress etc. If you want
that you need one of these:

http://kde-look.org/index.php?xsortmode=high&page=0&xcontentmode=9

I'd suggest the one called "bespin" :P - Mar 31 2010
huh? .kde? you must be using some strange
dist...
...however, then it's here to extract:

~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/images/

if it does not work I have heard you have
to empty kde cache also before starting
amarok, do so by:

rm -r /var/tmp/kdecache-$USER

best of luck - Mar 31 2010
okey then, pls paste the output of:

kde4-config --localprefix

amarok -v

thx. - Mar 30 2010
did you restart amarok?

it doesnt check there for themes realtime...
...only when you start it. - Mar 30 2010
extract to:
~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/images/ - Mar 30 2010
In short: you cant.

the css code on that side is only for
the tabs.

I have loaded a png as a bg that streches
over the whole main window.... ...so if
I for example change the font size of change
the font,
the bar that you see under the pathbar
will be missplaced etc, because different
fonts have different padding. - Mar 30 2010
:D haha!

Well that depends, is it working? :D

The thing is... I dont see a reason for
sharing bespin presets... is just a few
clicks in bespin conf dialog anyway.

Anyways, love your new project!
You really are a perfectionist.

I now understand what you mean about my
fugly fonts btw, as I was browsing kde
look at school with a "normal" screen...
...1280x1024.. on about 19", the fonts
look funny yeah.

But on my 23" 2048x1152 they look ok.
I guess the pixels are so small or something
that they look alright.

you should know tho... conky does not

nice! 10 thumbs up!

I'm guessing there is no settings window
atm right?

also, I know it's prolly not even supposed
to work under this version:
Platform Version 4.4.64 (KDE 4.4.64 (KDE 4.5 >= 20100220))

but it does :D it just stretches over the
whole panel, which judging from your ss
isn't supposed behaviour.

however, I'm gonna use this taskbar, I have
been waiting too long for something like
this to come around not to make use
out of it!

one more thing, the "box" or "button"
doesn't appear in a running task when
starting it... just after re-starting
plasma... ...in kde trunk.

too bad they have to change the api
this much within plasma for each version.

you prolly use kde stable right?

sorry for the long and boring post. - Feb 24 2010
this is starting to look really good!

I do have a question regarding the second
ss tho.

The taskmanager seems to have launcher support, so what taskmanager is it in
the panel?
