Looks nice! I see you recommend to use it with Emerald Dust. But Emerald is a part of Compiz right? Seems like a lot of extra bloat just to get a nice decorator... is there a good dust alternative for deKorator or native kde4? - Sep 12 2009

Oh, by the way. It turned out that I don't have a line that says 'plugin=fancytasks' in that file.

Maybe it could have something to do with the fact that on my system there is no ~/.kde4/ folder but instead a ~/.kde/?

Thanks, that worked to remove the background. However it also comes back as I log out and in again.

How do you mean if I use the applet directly? I installed it from the source package since I'm running 64 bit. And then I right clicked the desktop and chose "add panel". - Sep 09 2009

Sounds great! It's not that I think the panel looks bad or anything. It's just that I'm not much for transparency and shinyness at all on the desktop. I feel at home when my desktop gives me a cozy feeling, as when you walk into an old style english pub or something. It seems like I'm a minority... most people prefer the modern, shiny, flashy, arty, iEverything - feeling that I get when walking into an Apple store or a modern café. Not my cup of tea =)

That wasn't really relevant now was it, hehe? Anyway, I think it's great that people have different taste... but as for my me, I'de be a happy christmas child if I could tweak away just a little bit. Just don't go Cairo Docks, that makes my head spin =)

As for the settings... it saves the size and position of the panel.. but when I add my own launchers etc they disappear. I installed it from source on Kubuntu 9.10, kde 4.3.1

Hi!

Thank you for a very nice applet! The only thing I would like is a setting to disable reflection and the background plate.

Also, I can't save the settings. It reverts back to default when logging out. Is there a settings file that I can manually tweak? - Sep 09 2009

It's strange... It's over 750k so I couldn't upload it here. So I chose "link to file" instead but it's not showing up. I had to put it in the description instead. Could someone explain how to do this properly? - Sep 09 2009
