Please, note that I'm not a coder, so my git know-how are limited, I know basics but hopefully this will do. I created it a many years ago, and I don't deal with it on a daily basis, so I will have to re-learn things. Also know, I work and have over-times, so I don't have much time to focus on such projects anymore, but we'll see how it goes. - Jan 10 2021

It’s a good idea with github. I do have an account but thought that the theme is "unworthy" to have a project there, but now I think that it won't hurt to have one :). I'll create it when I find some time. - Jan 07 2021

However, I still see this marking bug, when text becomes white on white background. Additionally, in Thunderbird, the folder's (on the left panel) backgrounds are colored in lines dark (with light version) and darker, which makes it unpleasant and hardly readable. Currently, I'm using White Sure GTK theme for comparison, where none of those issues exist. - Nov 08 2020

plasma/desktoptheme/. Your path is different and org.manjaro.desktop.maiaPanel doesn't belong to my theme. It is probably a package installed theme (on Manjaro/Arch) so it wouldn't be wise to remove it manually. Rather look for maia named packages in your package manager. - Nov 04 2020

It also doesn't work with some apps like Gnome Discs, at least not when applied in Plasma, see:
https://imgur.com/Lr7BIid
It may be also tied to the fact that I use Manjaro testing, so I have the newest GTK and Plasma packages and the theme is not updated to newest GTK stack. - Oct 15 2020

Unfortunately, there is no way to have selective full transparency, so with blur in one place but transparency in other, at least not on a system panel.
If you want to have a fully transparent panel and blur effect on (menus, qt-apps) you need to switch to latte-dock for more advanced setup. Despite the name latte-dock in not just a dock but also a panel and basically the whole re-design of a Plasma desktop space. It gives you an incredible amount of options but it's for advanced users and it's hard to discover everything on its own.
There is also a downside, latte uses a lot of RAM, but that is unavoidable with all the option it has. So if you wan to have light Plasma setup, using a system panel is a way to go and then if you want transparency, use my theme. - Sep 01 2019

At the moment we are not on their radar so we shouldn't worry too much, at least now and the nearest feature.

For stripping titlebar in maximized mode use latte (the option is on layouts configuration page as "borderless"). - Feb 17 2019

Did you try killing plasmashell and loading it again? Usually, I find plasmashell in ksysguard and after getting rid of it I hit "alt+space" and type plasmashell, enter. Often a line artifact is visible after applying theme for the first time so after rellogging/rebooting or relaunching plasmashell it fixes itself.
If that doesn't work, I'll try to launch open suse in virtualbox and see if the issue can be replicated there. Do you use Leap of Thumbleweed? - Oct 09 2018

Read the descriptions for link to aurorae themes matching those Kvantum themes. However, I still prefer to use Breezemite. - Sep 15 2018

Some programs, like Konsole have own settings to provide transparency - go to Edit profile, look, enable transparency and blur. Gtk programs won't have window transparency, also some Qt won't have it either, it depends on how they are constructed and if they use a class style (not sure how it is properly named, I'm not a developer) that chosen Kvantum theme is making semi-transparent.
All of it has nothing to do with my desktop theme, but Macbreeze Shadowless simply suit the light, transparent Kvantum theme as shown os screens. - Aug 28 2018

One thing that I haven't figure out yet is how to make hdmi output work on linux when using bumblebee. Without it I can't use my TV on linux :(. But that's a different story and here is no place for it. Also comment boxes became ridiculously small... ;)
Anyway, you can contact me through my google site I gave above, so we can share some hints about making machine working as well as possible on linux. - Apr 21 2017

Too pity that it shows only for a 1 sec. and is gone... Too quick boot on ssd I guess. I don't even have a chance to see spinning circle around the alien head. Similar issue is with some other plymouths that have delayed and more complex animation: just an image and boom: system splash is there for another 1-2 sec. and the desktop appears. Nevertheless, it's a nice touch.
Thanks! :D - Apr 21 2017

I saw here some other plymouths with install instructions and they also seem to be debian/ubuntu specific. It's possible that the plymouth must be rewritten for arch system to make it work :(.
Arch in general improved file system structure and cleaned it. Debian is making the same changes but in a very, very slow pace :(.
Maybe you need to download some arch plymouths and see their build to figure out what needs to be changed. I guess it's nothing you can do quickly and I can only hope you have interest and time to play with it and figure it out. Maybe instead of spamming this comment board, will move to another way of communication. I would give you my email, but such comments are not a good place for that (boots will find it and throw more spam to your email adres). Maybe google+ profile will be safer. From there we can use google hangouts or share emails.
Here (hopefully content will not be cut out automatically):

And once this will work, you make proper changes and give instructions on this page. - Apr 21 2017

Small mistake, forgot to add "theme" in the example above, a pity I can't edit comments:
To change a theme and rebuild initrid image at the same time:
sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R theme - Apr 21 2017

Plymouths are located in:
/usr/share/plymouth/themes/
There are some files in /lib/plymouth/ but there are no plymouth specific ones, rather files needed to run plymouth in general.
To list all plymouth themes:
plymouth-set-default-theme -l
To change theme and rebuild initrid image at the same time:
sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R
That's the whole deal. It works for plymouths I have on my system (arch ones and the manjaro specific one). - Apr 21 2017

And then you could put here instructions how to install it on debian and arch systems once we figured it out ;).
I would love to use that plymouth. I played with many and most of them are ugly, basic and badly designed. From the picture above it looks like a really good looking one and frankly the best plymouth I saw so far... and given the fact I use alienware, I would love to make it work, but I don't have enough knowledge to follow it through. I can only give a feedback if you're up to. Thanks :) - Apr 21 2017

What system are you running? - Apr 21 2017

Plymouth Themes by yugioh2016 24 comments
Parser error, couldn't open the file /lib/plymouth/themes/alienware-splash/theme.sc
I did change it with initrams update, I used:
sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R alienware-splash
Will check your config command.

When rebooting system, it kindly hung on the closing, which allowed me to see the relevant message: missing /lib/plymouth/themes/theme.sc file if I recall correctly.
Looks like system is made to use /usr/share/plymouth/themes/alienware-splash/ while you designed plymouth to look for files in /lib/plymouth/themes/? Just guessing.
Besides, there is no such file in your directory. I guess I can't go any further without your help now. I hope I gave you all the info you need to fix it. It would be great to have alienware plymouth on alienware laptop :D (aside the one on the very begining - before grub). - Apr 21 2017
