KSniffer 1.0 for KDE 4.4 is coming :) - Mar 30 2010
Do you use KSniffer? Do you like it? bug report? Suggestions? Whishlist? :) - Aug 28 2008
Well, I don't know when I will start the KDE4 port. I want to fix some bugs and release some other version with new features too, but I have not too much time to dedicate in this period :( . - Aug 26 2008
Well if it doesn't find ksniffer than you you didn't install it. Maybe you lost kdelibs-devel, libpcap-devel, libxml2-devel . If you get a "ksniffer" binary in your source compiled directory it's impossible that when you execute:

make install

to install it you don't find the binary in your PATH - Mar 12 2008
Well, why this question? You start as all KDE applications except some specific distributions as could be Debian/Ubuntu, ... as reported here

http://www.ksniffer.org/index.php?section=installation

Simply use:

sudo ksniffer

or

kdesu ksniffer

to start it if you got troubles. KSniffer should detect if your installation is ok or not. Or did you mean where to get a Fedora Core package? Because I don't know if someone is working on a Fedora package... I need packagers too, as said here: http://www.ksniffer.net/index.php?section=faq

Let me know. - Mar 12 2008
Updated. I will fix this also on the website later.

Can you use my application and see if I can add some other things to this description or if it's enough for you? Can you give me your feedback on KSniffer 0.3.2? - Feb 22 2008
Hello, at the moment there are few binaries packets. Can someone produce binaries for OpenSuSE, Fedora, Arch Linux, and so on? I will thank you. - Jul 24 2007
Thank you for this message :) - Jun 17 2007
network transparent - Jun 11 2007
Well, I wanted to say "network trasparent" :) - Jun 11 2007
Of course you can. Go to see the Configure dialog. It's an option: you can see in real time and you can see after you stopped capturing. Go to the menu: Tool/Configure KSniffer and set the wanted option. - Jun 11 2007
KSniffer is network indipendent because use KDE ioslave... You can save or load file over the network... You can save a file on a remote FTP server or load a file from an SSH server like you want. You have to specify the complete URL in dialog when you load or save a file. - Jun 11 2007
run ksniffer with kdesu and you will fix this... OpenSuSE and Debian is made too complex to let work this kind of program easily. - Jun 07 2007
Version 0.3 will fix your problem. On Debian/Ubuntu and OpenSuSE I think you have to run ksniffer with kdesu... I will write a note about this into the README file for the final release. - Jun 07 2007
Mmm, I think to know about it. It's a bug fixed with the next release... Can you write me and told me about what is your Linux distro? - May 22 2007
Can you send me a bug report? How to reproduce the crash? I fixed a crash bug for the next release, so I'd like to understand if it's the same... write me to the email you find in the AUTHORS file.

Giovanni - Apr 10 2007
Hello. I put the KSniffer packets (gentoo, Open SuSE, Slackware, Mandriva) on the KSniffer website (ksniffer.org) in the download session. Thanks all of you. If someone else has a link for some other Linux distributions write me in private and I will add the link. KDE-apps.org doesn't send me email anymore and I don't know why. That's why I don't reply all of you in time. - Mar 15 2007
If you created the package this means that you tested. So if access to the menu Help you'll find the author email. Why don't you send me an email to let me know on which repository you released the package? Which kubuntu? edgy? dapper? When I have a few time I will add binary references to the website.

For some strange reason I don't get email anymore from this web site, so I didn't know there where new messages here. Can the sysadim of this web site reply to me if he/she reads this message? Thank you.

Giovanni - Feb 23 2007
Ok I'll do for KSniffer 0.2... It's coming... I hope to give an alpha version for 15th Jannuary or later at the end of Jannuary :) . Cross the finger :) . - Jan 11 2006
Well let me know when you update your translation and I release 0.1.1... I posted on kde-i18n-doc: the release was just for a week ago. I delayed trying to fix some other little things. - Jul 29 2005
More than 40'000 packet on a 512 MByte RAM and 256 swap? Report me the bug how described into HOW_TO_REPORT_BUGS - Jul 16 2005
Mmm, how many packets did you get? Have you read the KNOWN-BUGS file into the tar.bz2? I have to fix it for a lots of packets... Is it version 0.0.22? Because first than 0.0.22 version I didn't fix the crash bug when you click on a packet to see the details... I fixed other bugs... I think to release as soon as I can 0.1 stable. - Jul 16 2005
Well consider to specify a correct link. No object linked to it. - Jul 09 2005
Well there are about 19 languages at the moment... a lot of them are incomplete, but no German translator added his work till now. The project is into KDE Subversion System (trunk/playground/network/ksniffer), so if you want to translate it in German you are welcome. :-) - Jul 09 2005

firewalls are for system administrators not for newbie. iptables it's well documented and it's not so difficult to use as you say... why ubuntu don't make a patch directly to the kernel sources to integrate it, than? Or could be fine to have OpenBSDbuntu :) .
Anyway. Good work on this GUI. It's fun programming with Qt4 :) . - Mar 09 2009
What? Ubuntu firewall?
I think always more that ubuntu in NOT Linux. The firewall on Linux IS iptables. All other ubuntu strange things is unusefull for Linux community. - Mar 08 2009

I've got openobex 1.3. The error is the presence of 2 lines like the following:

printf(__FUNCTION__ "() Denied %02x request\n", cmd);

what is that __FUNCTION__ ? - Sep 05 2006

Well they closed the bug as INVALID. The author of this wonderfull patch has to contact the kde-core-devel list if we want it into KDE 4. Not possible for KDE 3.4 because it's not in the feature list. - Dec 31 2004
Well if you like you can vote this feature on:
