it sounds like there isn't a deb or kubuntu package for this? And geobarrod is too busy to create (but we thank him for making the menu in the first place!) - does someone have an easy way to install on kubuntu, or want to make a deb file for it? - Aug 14 2017
Rotate or flip images

this is great- but could you confirm if when used on JPEG the change is lossy or lossless? I believe it is lossy, based on what I read about imagemagik, so perhaps I need to edit to use a different one - but at least I have the template now, so thanks - Aug 14 2017

Amarok 2.x Scripts by Rudd-O 9 comments

Hi, this sounds like exactly the script i'm looking for. i installed, and enabled in the script manager (and installed qtscript which amarok told me was required), but now that it's running, i'm not sure if it's doing anything- does it report anywhere in amarok when it's scanning?
also, i was wondering if when it adds the replaygain tag, if it's going to change the files modification time? i'd rather not have it do that, since then all my files will have same/similar recent modification time (rather than when i actually got the files), so i was curious...
thanks so much for working on this important script! - Jan 31 2011

Don't mean to waste space here, but thanks for this wonderful application. I just appreciate having a great native kde4 sound recording program that "just worked" for me! (on Kubuntu 8.10). - Nov 08 2008

obviously apollon is pretty much dead, hasn't been updated in forever and won't even work without tweaking after install. but what is the replacement? apollon is _still_ the most downloaded file sharing app on and something like it would still seem great. i guess frostwire / limewire are the replacement, but i would much rather have something Qt-based...especially Qt4 based - Aug 12 2008

Intro-Play (script for amaroK)

Amarok 1.x Scripts by oggiandthecockroaches 7 comments

I also had a problem where I was also running a script called "amarok_replaygain" and when both were running then Intro-Play would only work for the 1st song after I started running the script. replaygain was changing the volume during the intro of the song, and it made the Intro-Play script go into the "else" on line 58. This "else" statement kills the timer. So I removed the else and the 2 lines after it. And now Intro-Play works along with my other script. OP, why was this else statement put in the while loop? Will it cause me other headaches now that I removed it? - Jun 20 2007
Intro-Play (script for amaroK)

Amarok 1.x Scripts by oggiandthecockroaches 7 comments

It annoyed me that every time you click the configure button it would reset the delay to 20 seconds. So if you change line 45 to read:
f = popen('kdialog --inputbox "Seconds to be played:" ' + str(self.seconds))

this will be fixed. - Jun 20 2007

i'm not sure from the description how this is different than what i currently use KCheckGmail

the screenshots look prettier, so i'd rather use this one, but i'm unclear- does this applet notify me when i get a new message in my inbox? also, when it notifies me, does it show a small bit of text from the new email? this is what i would really like, since all KCheckGmail does is tell me there is a new message, but doesn't give me any more information than that...
Thanks! - Mar 29 2007

Amarok 1.x Scripts by attendant 126 comments

does anybody have this script working on kubuntu or ubuntu? first, i had to install an old libpng3 library that aptitude said was for legacy code, now i least it runs without an error. but i can't get the context menu to come up and i can't even tell if it's running.

boy i look forward to the day when most people run the same distro, or at least when software will work on mine! i use kubuntu/ubuntu because it's suppose to be popular, but still so many/most scripts don't work for me. - Feb 14 2007

i also get this error. i located and made a symbolic link to it in the .kde/share/apps/..../shouter directory containing the script, and the error changes but now there are just a bunch of other files it still can't find or something.
any help anyone? i would love to try this script out, too bad it doesn't work "out of the box", maybe i can look at the code sometime and help...

Amarok 1.x Scripts by maacruz 274 comments

yes, running the latest beta7 and using kde 3.5.5, amarok 1.4.3
so i removed python2.3 since that isn't needed (i have 2.4) but i still no luck.

when amarok starts at the terminal, i notice this message
amarok: [ScriptManager] [ERROR!]
amarok: Failed to open device

not sure what that's all about.

when i click configure, i get a KDialog popup with the choice of what to configure. then, choosing Pregain, i get the message window passive popup in the top left saying "Replaygain script warning
some utilities not found, replaygain will not work on,..."
and it states aacgain and replaygain are not installed.
but after this popup, nothing happens. on the terminal, the following is output:

hmm it's a little long for a comment here. i don't see anything that says error though.
any advice? i can send more debugging info. - Oct 24 2006

Amarok 1.x Scripts by maacruz 274 comments

I'm wondering if there are plans to move replaygain to python 2.4 and possibly remove the gtk dependencies. Currently, I'm running Kubuntu and after bringing up the Kdialog to configure it, I select one and click configure, but it just exits then. On my other computer, I have ubuntu-desktop installed as well as kubuntu so all the gtk libaries and gnome junk are installed, and it works there.

I went through tons of libraries trying to find which gtk dependency is missing, but I don't know which it is. Looking over your dependency list, I have all those, I've checked and double checked, but still there is no configuration screen...
I'd really rather not have to completely install gnome to get the screen to show up, any advise is appreciated.
Thanks, great script! - Oct 19 2006

Amarok 1.x Scripts by maacruz 274 comments

on further fiddling, they are at 44.1khz, but it seems the default setup for encoding my flac files in kde caused a corruption at the end of the files. they play fine and i wouldn't have known, but testing them they fail the CRC at 99%, so i'm sure this must be the reason replaygain fails. i tested a trimmed version and replaygain worked fine as well.

sorry to take your time! i love replaygain and look forward to getting it on these flac files once i fix their corruption. - Sep 19 2006

Amarok 1.x Scripts by maacruz 274 comments

i ripped a CD to flac files, played it in amarok, then tried adding replaygain tags using right click 'scan file in track mode'
it seems to scan the flac files, but after it finishes it says simply "The following files failed:file:///home/jet/Shared/asdf.flac"
it works for mp3s still, but not flac i guess.

any ideas? i have the flac ability to play and edit tags installed, i changed the tags on the flac files no problem.

let me know if you don't already know about this problem and i will try to provide more debug info for you.

amarok 1.4.3

also, this did not, as far as i remember, happen with the previous replaygain before 0.9 - Sep 18 2006

any further thoughts on this? i have this error as well.
also, does anybody know when/if the DAAP server for amarok that I heard was a google SoC project will be available for amarok?
this script might work, but it would be great if i could have one that allowed streaming and syncronization between two computers. my goal is to be able to play music on multiple computers in the house and have it in sync, and all controllable through one client. - Sep 06 2006

System Software by jrfaller 87 comments

so i basically want to backup my home directory, but I want to exclude one directory in it that is very large media stuff. this seems like functionality many would like, but I don't see a way to add a folder but exclude any of it's subdirectories. or, it would also work if in the dialog to select folders, we could hold down control and select multiple folders, that might work as well.

anyone know if this functionality is in the works? - Aug 31 2006

man this is soo slick, it just needs a little polish and it will the sweetest thing to hit amarok ever. basically, I'm excited about when I can keep only mp3s on my main computer and have a nice pretty web interface that I can stream them from for everywhere else...

Obviously, things that need work are playlists and general interface stuff, I hope you keep up the great work. - May 03 2006
