First of all, Codeine is great. Does what it is supposed to do in a very simple and intuitive way.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find an easy way to load a subtitles file for the currently loaded movie. Was this intented?

(this = not having support for subtitles)

I'd only be interested in being able to load subtitles and change their display encoding (having reasonable defaults +not changeable OSD font settings). - Sep 23 2006

I've been following development of Krita in the blogs and all I can say is congratulations.

I've seen a lot of filters porting from GIMP to Krita. I would like to know if the ported filters can also be used in Digikam.

KDE is, in fact, a synonym for desktop integration, isn't it? :) - Jul 07 2005

I would suggest using KNewStuff for deploying new themes for the SplashScreen Engine, if you're not already doing this. - Jun 26 2005

Bad luck.

My QT is in /opt/qt. That is one BIG REASON for having a ./configure (+options). It is quite normal to run ./configure to detect paths (QT at least in this case) and put them in a Makefile.

The Makefile would then be used by running make, which calls qmake from the appropriate location, linking to the QT libs in the appropriate location.

I am running a 99% totaly clean system here (meaning that I have everything packed in distro packages). I do not think that building in the home dir is a good distribution method.

This is a serious drawback for distributing this application as a distro-package (& maintaining an organized system). It is not flexible enough, and this flexibility can be brought by using adequate building techniques. - Feb 26 2005
The way I compile && install KDE applications:

./configure --prefix=/opt/kde
make || return 1
make prefix=$startdir/pkg/opt/kde install

I do this inside a script (that's why there's "$startdir" there.

Where is ./configure?
Why does it return
"make: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib/qt3/mkspecs/default/qmake.conf', needed by `Makefile'. Stop."
on running make?

There's also a prebuilt binary in the archive? How come?

There's something fishy with the build process... - Feb 22 2005

2 tiny remarks:
a) the stripe does not appear when Menu Effect is set to Translucent
b) choosing a color for the stripe is applied without a gradient (is this the
desired behaviour?)

I'll just copy paste:

a) the stripe does not appear when Menu Effect is set to Translucent
b) choosing a color for the stripe is applied without a gradient (is this the
desired behaviour?)

Otherwise, a great desktop improvement. - Dec 07 2004

1. If some icons are hidden and I choose to configure the systray, those icons won't be shown in the Icons list (only the icons, the rest of the fields are ok).
If I make them visible (by clicking the button) & choosing configure, they will appear.

2. The icons list doesn't have a scroolbar.

3. Most of the Widgets in the configure dialog don't shrink with the window. - Nov 26 2004
I want the text icon back also (didn't know that it was text, but it looked good).
The Crystal icon is not very ugly, but it's big. I like my show/hide button not to be wide, so a set a width of ~8-10 pixels, or less (I don't know right now what I've set because I don't see the margins - which is a good thing!).

Anyhow, the image on the button should be scaled, because it definitely doesn't look good if the size of the button is different(smaller) than the size of the icon.

Great applet otherwise ;) - Nov 26 2004

Hmm... You are right... about everything.
1. Didn't even think of trying negative values for the parameters, as I haven't actually seen SpinEdit boxes getting negative.
2. The menu item seems functional, as it changes the shape of the icon in the titlebar. I've done some more research on this and it seems I was expecting something else from the button, which I found in another menu. Anyway, this is no longer a problem.

10x again for this wonderful piece of work. - Nov 15 2004
... and a suggestion: how about adding some ("dark-ing") effects more appropriate for lighter backgrounds? - Nov 14 2004
Err.. haven't noticed the 0.9B version in the ChangeLog. I don't know if the changes in 0.9B reffer to "adding the buttons" or actually adding the functionality.

Any plans for releasing some sources for it? Or.. . the 0.9 sources already include the B changes? I can't seem to figure out what version I have installed, since I got a binary package. I have the buttons displaying, but it seems they don't work (or at least the "keep above others" button doesn't work)

10x again. - Nov 14 2004
The "Keep above others" button does not work. Otherwise, a great theme, 10x. - Nov 14 2004
