What's your settings for the fonts? I can't get the Ubuntu font to look right in KDE, while by default it's ok in GNOME. - May 17 2011

There were a light version of this theme called murrine colors but it's no longer supported. Is there any way to turn the menubar and menus to grey, I mean, to get a completely light theme from this? - Oct 18 2010

You have to go to Systemsettings and then to the Appearance->Style part. Once Bespin is selected, click on Configure and in the dialog, select "Import". Then Select the .bespin file and apply changes. Make sure that 'Bespin Dust' is selected. - Nov 26 2009
Yes. I don't know exactly the revision number, but it must be something like 830 or more. - Nov 23 2009
I've added the color configuration.

The black on black is a known problem in KDE4 due to some widgets which force text color to black thinking that everyone will use Oxygen theme with Oxygen colors.
If you find a widget or menu that is unreadable, file a bug in

The author of Bespin is very fast at fixing bugs.

Also, you can change the menu color to a lighter color in the Bespin configuration. - Nov 22 2009

I'm testing the new Firefox 3.0 and I've found a bug in this engine. On some rounded controls, I can see the background colors around them but not in all of them. Radio buttons, check buttons and listboxes are rendered correctly but not the entry boxes and the normal buttons, which have a rectangle with background color around them.

See this screenshot:

I have seen this bug in more places but it's specially visible in Firefox since background colors for web pages are random and are not controlled by the engine.
It is not a firefox bug and since I can reproduce it for example in compiz fusion preferences. Look here:

I can confirm this bug using Aurora 1.3 and Fedora 8. - Dec 11 2007
Well, I have compiled Murrine an Aurora with the same flags. The Clearlooks theme is the one from Ubuntu Gutsy and it's faster than Aurora and I know for sure that Aurora was compiled with -O2.
Anyway, this is not a complain, it's just to point the attention to the performance, since I think that not only eye-candy is important. A very good looking theme could be discarded by many people if it makes their PC slower. - Sep 24 2007
I would suggest you to improve the engine performance since, using gtkperf, your engine is two times slower than the new Clearlooks (Gummy) and even slower than Murrine. I like it and there are good themes based on your engine but I don't use them since changing from one virtual desktop to another, I can see a notable delay and the widget repainting in your engine, while I don't see them in Clearlooks or Murrine. - Sep 06 2007

I'm not a GTK expert too. Does it gives you some error when you launch an application from the console? When I was changing the colors the theme didn't load for me at first because I had a mistaken a symbolic color name. In that case I had a message saying:
"Cannot find symbolic color X" in the terminal so I knew why it didn't load.
Maybe is a problem with symbolic names. Maybe only GNOME supports this feature? - Sep 26 2007
I haven't used a GTK theme in that way before so I don't know what to say. I just checked that it worked for GNOME.
The only thing I did was to get the default Nodoka theme and change a couple of symbolic colors in it. That can be done in the theme dialog as well but since most of people don't know that this option even exists, I decided to release it as a new Theme. I don't know much about gtkrc files and in fact, this is the first time that I release a gtkrc modification, which as I said, is very minor compared to the original Nodoka gtkrc file.

Try to use Nodoka theme instead of the Nodoka-Clearlooks one and see if that works. If it doesn't work, then is a problem of the original file if it works I'll look if I have to change some name or something like that. - Sep 25 2007
You have to extract the included folder in ~/.themes where ~ is your home directory, then you can select the theme from the preferences dialog. - Sep 25 2007
There's a screenshot now.
You are really fast because I forgot to put the screenshot but I uploaded it just one minute before uploading the theme.
Also I forgot to put the correct category, which is GTK2 theme and now it's fixed. - Sep 24 2007

Could you make a variant style that does not show the time on every message? It makes the conversation too big. There are other styles that grabs the time only in the first message of a group or that they put the time on the left side of the message or something like that. - Aug 02 2006
