And thanks for using my cursors... Interesting someone actually uses them :) (they don't fit into my current theme, so I neither use them right now.) - Dec 26 2007

It will be included in KDEmod as it stabilizes and posted on kde-look too.
So no further "hack" modifying the kicker background by using your background image.
Just for your information :)
And... Kirocker rocks! Keep it up! - Nov 19 2007
Are there any plans to add webcam video? If you would plan that I would be the happiest person ever :)
I don't know how complicated it would be to port this to windows but it's worth a look. This could get an alternative to skype if done right (of course that would be a longer journey then :) )
I'll look into the code and check what has to be done to get it to compile on windows, I'll contact you if I know more ;) - Nov 19 2007

These shadows work by creating an extra window that contains a screenshot over which the shadow is drawn. But you can't do screenshots of things that are hidden normally. Here comes composite to work, with it you can get the contents of the hidden parts and do a "screenshot" of exactly that to render shadows.
This one is thought for computers where composite won't work because of slowness or crappy drivers. So if you have a decent PC use the kcompmgr shadows that are already included with kde. - Jun 04 2007

The KCM config module was really crapped!
I finally fixed it, if you want to use the thing really just get the patch here:
http://dunkelstern.no-ip.org/arch/ksmtheme-fix.patch
You don't have to be root now (that was hillarious because it didn't work even as root) and that dang thing doesn't crash anymore. Theme installing works also.
And this one if you're on the current KDE:
http://dunkelstern.no-ip.org/arch/kdebase-3.5.7-add-ksmserver-theme-support.patch
(That one worked quite good :) ) - Jun 01 2007

Seems to be a Makefile issue.
ltmain.sh doesn't generate a emoticonseditdialog.lo and it doesn't compile emoticonseditdialog.cpp, so the symbol is missing afterwards while linking.
But I don't know how to fix it as I am no automake/libtool professional. - May 26 2007

Somewhere below a KControl patch was suggested. If that person is so kind to send me his patch then I'll include it and extend it for setting the animation speed. - Mar 12 2007

If you wouldn't mind I would include it into the patch. So all is together where it belongs :) - Mar 12 2007

The programmer of libart made a mistake and it'll not build currently.
Either up- or downgrade libart, that should fix the issue (if you don't want to do that search the kde mailing lists for a patch. There is one but I don't know the URL though) - Mar 08 2007

As I was informed KUbuntu Feisty Fawn has already adapted this patch. So I'm waiting for the SuSE guys to catch up now *g*.
I have no RPM based Distro installed right now so I can not help you with packages currently. Sorry. - Feb 26 2007

http://dunkelstern.no-ip.org/patches/desktopext-config-0.3-hidden-visibility.patch.bz2
It's because of some KDE and QT Versions are compiled with hidden visibility.
The patch removes just one linker flag: -Wl,--no-undefined that breaks the build here. (Hidden Visibility is undefined for gcc in this case, because it's not in the source but in a shared lib) - Feb 14 2007

I have to diappoint you, it's a wild mix of different Themes. Some Icons from "Realistik", "Human", "Crystal Clear", "Vista Inspirate", Nuvoext", "OSX" and "Tango"
I think a quite similar look you get with installing "KDE Crystal Diamond 2.5 - Classical Mod" but don't ask me where to find it. - Feb 13 2007

If icons are no more pixmaps but vector objects it will be possible to recalculate the pixmap for each zooming step, but i doubt that's worth it because it eats CPU time. - Feb 10 2007

I ask because my KDE 3.5 has some problems with links in cursor archives. If you install via kcontrol it unpacks the package but doesn't create the links correctly.
The "ball" should apparently visualize a world globe... perhaps i should improve that. Thanks for your comment. - Dec 15 2005

Where did you get it from ?
(i used a 128x128 png upsampled to 200x200, so it's a bit unsharp)
it would give the splash a sharper look if i could get the vector thingie...
