oops, it was a mistake, I updated the script to not require it. Thank you for letting me know. - Jun 29 2013

ok, another 4 years are gone and finally i started to port it over to amarok 2 :)

luckily i won't have to rewrite everything after all. but the first release will open a separate window unfortunately (just like the 'Rating statistics' script for example) because there doesn't seem to be any other way currently. - May 29 2013
fixed now! (and a lot more) - Nov 17 2010
making the comment field appear in conTEXT is an interesting idea, but you can already show it in the playlist and hovering over it will show the complete text (ok, maybe not the same comfort).
i'll see what i can do regarding amazon when i find the time. should be no problem. - Mar 19 2009
since i am also still using amarok 1.4 and don't plan to make the switch soon, and furthermore a complete rewrite will be necessary...i'm afraid this won't happen soon, sorry. - Mar 19 2009
not at all :) - Nov 02 2007
thanks for the kind words, however the amarok crew knows about this script, so i guess they would contact me if they were interested :) - Aug 17 2007
there you go :)
the foreign character problem is still there though, sorry... if any python expert can help me with that, please drop me a mail - Feb 04 2007
ok, why not :) - Dec 27 2006
ah, in the meantime, please delete ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts-data/conTEXT.conf and try again - Aug 23 2006
Argh, I hope this doesn't happen on every ubuntu system (they are using utf8 by default). I'll try to fix it some time. - Aug 21 2006
Auto-search will be triggered when the album changes or the script is restarted.
Do you see the search animation icon (I guess this should be improved). Move your mouse over it, hold still, and see if you get any status info. Maybe it just can't find anything for your album. Correct tags are important, of course.
However if it says "Found!" somewhere and, once all marked sites have been searched, you still don't see a review...set DEBUG = True in common.py, then try again and send my the log... - Aug 21 2006
Please try release 2b. - Aug 20 2006
Hmm thanks for reporting, are you maybe running a really old version of Amarok? Something like 1.2.x?
If not, what happens when you run the following command from a console:
dcop amarok playlist saveCurrentPlaylist - Aug 19 2006
I think I have to agree with bsander. And btw the name is NOT identical ;) - Jun 03 2006

you are right, m4v files can't be loaded, but that is a limitation in amarok or the xine-engine...the only solution i can think of currently is to rename the file, for example to .mp4 or .mpg - Mar 19 2008
oh thanks (and sorry ;)
what was your approach then? - Jan 28 2008
you mean like a kind of visualization plugin? so whenever there is a video, pause the audio and take the video instead? yeah, why not, wouldn't be that difficult to do. maybe i'll include it some time. if anyone wants to help, please go ahead. - Jan 27 2008
sure it is only a quick hack...but quoting a recent statement of the amarok founder: "No, 2.0 won't have video support. A later version might integrate rudimentary support for playing music videos and such, but this is not yet decided." - Jan 18 2008

I'm sorry I have no idea :(
Checked several recent superkaramba versions and they all work for me. - Apr 21 2007
auto-reload: yes :)
high bidder icon: interesting idea, but there already is ebay's email notification for this, so i don't consider this feature high priority. - Jul 15 2006
yes this would probably be easy, but I'd be glad if someone from NZ who is using TradeMe (and knows regexps) could maintain it, so just drop me a message. - Jul 03 2006

this requires putting your whole collection into the playlist, so this script indeed does something that Amarok can't do.

However I would expect a Random Album script to load complete albums only. Of course it can't know which albums are complete. Except by making the file path user-definable (this is not a feature request :) because...

Another idea to approximate the desired behavior is a smart playlist like:
- match my complete albums path
- match track no. 1
- random order
- some limit
Start playing and when you want to listen to the entire album just load it from the context browser... - Jul 23 2006

Maybe you want to try version 0.2 (see above). I guess it'll be at least a little faster? - Mar 25 2006
Hmm, I don't think the repeating background would cause such grave problems like msoos is experiencing. As for my other PNGs, yes they are repeated..moreover, they are a bit smaller and partly transparent, so they probably need the most computing power... I remember I had some problems too when playing with different background-style values..I also played with the image sizes, but AFAIR this did not affect performance.
Maybe it's just that KDE 3.5.1 (KHTML) improves something in PNG rendering? - Mar 25 2006
thanks for your comment, now I can understand why people started voting 'bad'.. The problem is not "intended" in any way, for me rendering performance is perfect (KDE 3.5.1, amaroK svn, no DRI).
Please, anyone having the same issue, post your specs. Or any idea how this could be solved. (It's not the amarok version, I tried 1.3.8 now, and repaired some display bugs btw.). - Mar 24 2006
