Oh ok, well if it is configurable then thats fine, good job! Although I would recommend that by default it conforms to the KDE style of coming from the file not the tool bar, when i first saw it my first thought was "wow some people more really use tool bars a lot" till I suddenly realised I was being an idiot :-P - Sep 20 2008

While I wouldn't use this as I usually have so many files open in Kate tabs become unusuable for me (compared to Kates document list) I voted Good as I like this. However I do have one suggestion, the tab bar should be coming away from the file editor not the toolbar (since your tabbing the files not the toolbars ;-) ) in the same way they come away from the web pages in konqueror.

Menu improvement idea.

Its a nice idea but I think it would get messy fast.
One way to help reduce the mess I guess would be when you move from category to another category to remove the previous category so that only one is displayed at a time.
I would also find searching for an item in a circular arrangement harder than finding something that's listed from top to bottom (as I am used to with pretty much everything else that uses text :-) ) as current menu.

On another note someone has written something similar to this before I am sure. It was a katapult like program where you could build up a circular menu system of your favourite applications. Maybe that will get KDE4 and have an option to use the standard menu source in the process so you can use that menu system if you wish :-). I used it once, but it was a novelty feature so i got annoyed fast :-) - Apr 19 2008

When it changes to a different image it refreshes over my currently displayed applications till i click on the window for example ... I am sure it didn't do this in 1.0. I am currently running 1.45

I think kopetes great, some of the plugins are good. What would be cool though, is if I could invite my contacts to stuff like gnomemeeting, like i think i saw in KMess.
Also, one thing I like about a messenger used in windows called trillian, is the way it can be skinned. If these could be added to it I think it would be a top messenger. - Apr 08 2004
