10 A setting for making the title-bar of maximized windows disappear, and allows you to put the close/maximize-buttons in an auto-hiding panel instead. Preferably in the corner where you are used to have the buttons.

Allows a lot of customization!

The bad: I don't get the "App menu" to appear. It may be me missing something.

Yeah... App Menu doesn't show to me either!

I have created a bug report, but so far no one looked at it:

10 10 the best! I wanted a mac like global menu with all dates and system tray in top panel. This plasma widget's the most detailed and featureful even though some of its features are not being developed. The feature I like the most is it automatically disables titlebars only for maximized windows which saves precious real estate. The app menu was not working so i used global menu widget besides it. I wanted to use this widget primarily for closing, minimizing my windows and that feature is still working. Please keep this widget up-to-date

This plasmoid is no longer developped and uses old stack of code for global menus that is no supported anymore! Please, use instead this three applets (made by latte devloper):

https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-buttons

https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-title

https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-appmenu

For stripping titlebar in maximized mode use latte (the option is on layouts configuration page as "borderless").

I have installed Active Window Manager and it works with some applications. Other ones fail to show the entries menu in the panel. I'm very new on KDE, could you explain me what is not working on AWM that it is working on the other three applets? Thanks in advance

Look at my previous comment here (a month ago). AWC is no longer developer and uses an old stack of the global windows which may not work correctly with some programs. Use the applets I posted above to get optimal and up to date experience on Plasma.

3 -It crashes my entire Plasma Desktop depending on the configuration (for example when filling the hidden text on hover). I prefer Plasma Active Application (https://store.kde.org/p/1269296) that is faster, smoother and adapts itself in combination with Global Menu.

Sorry for double post. Also it would be nice if the close button stayed visible permanently. Sometimes when on the empty desktop or using the application launcher it disappears, leaving an unsightly hole in my dock.

Thanks for this useful widget. It could work better on my set up with a vertical latte dock if it allowed you to centralize the close button (rather than just the corners) and kept the colours the original shade rather than turning it red and white after use.

Thank you genna87! This appeared also to be the case in my machine. Also latte-dock is very specific about how it wants to be used. But I found it all out and now it works like a charm!

@pieter I just had a similar issue in Kubuntu, but the problem was simply the (very) small size of the buttons. Try selecting "Buttons next to icon and text" in the buttons sections of the settings

This widget is great! But I can't get the window control buttons to appear in the top bar when the window is maximized. I am using Neon. I tried in a latte panel and in a plasma panel. No luck. Can you give me a clue how to manage that? Note that the package libqt5qml-graphicaleffects is not in the ubuntu repositories anymore.... Thanks.

The "Hide titlebar for maximized windows (takes effect immediately) is no longer working." Every time the machine is restarted the previous settings return.
Use the plasma 5.13.4.
